Solutions to Camera Stucks in a Black and White Image
Hello, y'all!
As mentioned in the title, today we will talk about the camera stuck in black and white screen this common problem.
Generally speaking, this situation means that the camera did not switch from night mode to day mode in time according to the light changes in the surrounding environment.
The root cause of this is because infrared (IR) cameras have a sensor that measures the ambient light. This determines when to switch the camera between color recording and IR / night vision recording. If there is not enough ambient light hitting the sensor, the camera will record in IR / night vision mode.
Also, a cooler colored ambient light may also prevent the infrared (IR) cut filter from engaging, which can cause the camera to display in black and white.
In order to ensure that the camera is displayed in color, we recommend that you start with the following two aspects:
1. Evaluate the lighting condition. If the camera is in shade or a dark area, it may be displaying in night vision mode. Please adjust the re-position the camera into different or brighter lighting.
2. Test the power of the camera. The camera may be recording in night vision if it is not receiving enough power.
The specific method of operation is as follows:
1) Unmount the camera and place it in the location of a functional camera, if the camera image resumes color display, the power source (e.g., Ethernet or DC power cable) may have been the cause. Please try using a different Ethernet cable.
2) If you're using a DC power cable now, connect to a different, functional power outlet. Surge protectors or power adapters may be overtaxed and not provide enough power.
