Solutions to DVR/NVR Keeps Beeping
Hello, y'all!
Occasionally, we receive feedback mentioning that the DVR/NVR beeps from time to time, and in severe cases it may even fail to start. Therefore, this article summarizes some common factors that can lead to this problem, and if your DVR/NVR is unfortunately hit, you can first perform a simple troubleshooting check based on the following content.
Generally speaking, there are three common causes of DVR/NVR beeping all the time:
Cause 1: The beeping is caused by Motion Buzzer.
If you have entered the system menu and set the alarm to sound when the camera detects motion, then the DVR/NVR will beep to alert you when the alarm is triggered. If your DVR/NVR beeps irregularly and can correspond to the recording time of the motion detection alarm, then it is highly likely that this is the case.
Cause 2: The beeping is caused by Exception Buzzer.
This factor is made up of four categories of situations: HDD Full, HDD Error, Net Disconnected, and Power Cord.
Of these, power supply and hard drive problems cause the most common abnormalities. For the former, we would recommend that you try replacing the DVR/NVR with a working power supply to see if the NVR beeps due to a lack of power supply; for the latter, a bad internal hard drive can also cause anomalies, so please remove the back cover of the DVR/NVR device and re-plug the hard drive cable to see if you can solve the problem.
Cause 3: The beeping is caused by the Stuck System.
After excluding the power supply and hard drive these external factors of the anomaly, the most likely cause of your DVR / NVR beeping failure is the firmware crash, which most often occurs after the user does not perform the correct shutdown operation through the menu directly cut off the power. In response, we recommend that you repair the DVR/NVR's system data by manually applying a firmware update so that it can resume normal operation.
Note*: Firmware update operation is risky, please make sure to contact our official after-sales service team and inform the device model first, and follow the guideline steps after the customer service staff provides the corresponding upgrade and instruction files, otherwise it may lead to further damage to the DVR/NVR.
