Model-08DN/08DM/16DK NVR New Firmware: Probability External Network Connection Problem Solved

Zosi ZR08DN & ZR08DM & ZR16DK PoE NVR's new firmware is available on the download center now.
These three devices are known to have a probability of not being able to connect to the external network after upgrading with program version V1.7.2 and above.
To address this issue, our technical department has provided the V1.7.1.X version of the upgrade program, which not only optimizes the network connection problem, but also improves the compatibility of these PoE NVRs to connect to C182/C225/C296 camera devices.
*Note*: Unlike the previously released update files for other models of devices, this update has 2 Files that you need to download and save to a USB drive in order to complete the system upgrade.
* When performing the upgrade operation, please pay attention to check the file name.
* Please put the uboot and the program together in the USB drive and then perform the upgrade operation, after the upgrade is complete, please restart the NVR power off once, uboot will take effect.

(Please save the upgrade file rootfs-mc6630 and u-boot-mc6630.bin in the root directory, please don't save them under any other folders.)
The following are the step-by-step instructions for upgrading the NVR specific operations:
To perform this process, you will want to use a USB 2.0 drive ideally 16 GB or less in size, formatted in FAT32.
After you have downloaded the update files from the link above, please note that these files should be placed in the root directory of the USB (not in any folders) and the files' names must remain the same for the NVR to recognize it.
Some customers have reported issues when downloading these files using the "Microsoft Edge" browser. We recommend using a different browser for this process.

If you're not seeing an "updating..." message on the screen for at least three minutes, the NVR isn't detecting the update file. There are a few reasons this could be:
1) If the NVR has alternative places to look for the update, it won't run. The ethernet cable needs to be disconnected, as well as any other USB devices including the mouse. The power should be disconnected for at least 10 seconds before connecting the USB drive and reconnecting the power.
2) If the USB is 3.0, the NVR will not be able to read it. USB 3.0 was developed after the NVR motherboards. Likewise, the NVR is not in FAT32 format, it won't be read. The easy way to tell if a USB drive is 3.0 is the color of the board chip inside the USB connection. 2.0 always uses a black board, while 3.0 generally has a colored board, often red or blue.
3) The file name must remain exactly as listed in the article for the NVR to recognize it as an update. If the file was downloaded twice, a PC will add (1) to the end of the name, which will create an issue. If the file was downloaded using the Microsoft Edge browser, this will cause the file to be converted to a text file, which can't be read by the NVR.
4) The NVR cannot navigate through folders in the USB to find the update. The file must be placed in the USB root directory.
