First, the most important point: The battery life of your camera is dependent on how often the security camera turns on.

Generally speaking, wireless cameras only wake up when motion is detected and goes back to stand-by mode when there is no motion to save and lengthen the battery life.

The battery life will be significantly less if your camera is in a high traffic area full of motion activity. Also, the period of time that your camera remains recording after its senses motion also impact how long it will last.

Therefore, we recommend to not install camera's facing high traffic streets or paths in order to increase battery life.

You may want to ask, then how to modify the camera's wake-up condition settings?

It is very simple, please enter the "IPC Channel Config", select the battery camera and click "Edit" to enter the configuration interface. You can choose Wake-up time(s) in 10/20/30 seconds, the default setting is 20 seconds.

Second, the battery life of wireless cameras will also be affected by the installation environment, light and temperature are important factors.

According to the results of our statistical experiments (Estimates provided are for 20°C / 68°F):

Darker environments may reduce battery life up to 50%;

Colder climates may reduce battery life up to 50%.
