This upgrade file is for ZR08HN / ZR08HQ / ZR16HK PoE NVRs
You can find the model number of the NVR on the label at the bottom of the NVR.
If your NVR tag is lost, please go to NVR Main Menu - Info - System take a picture to us, and we will send you the correct upgrade file.
You can try updating your NVR with this upgrade file if your NVR is experiencing the following issues: The NVR device is connected to the network but disconnects after a few hours. It requires a manual reboot to reconnect, and this issue keeps repeating.
You can upgrade your NVR by following the guide below:
1) You don't need to open the upgrade file, please download the upgrade file directly and save it to your USB flash drive.
(Please save the upgrade file rootfs-mc6850 in the root directory, not in any other folder.)
Note: To perform this process, you need to use a USB 2.0 drive that is preferably 16 GB or smaller in size and formatted in FAT32 format.
Some customers have reported problems downloading this file using the Microsoft Edge browser.
If the file was downloaded using the Microsoft Edge browser, this will cause the file to be converted to a text file and the NVR cannot read the file. We recommend using a different browser for this process.
If it helps, here's a link to a Youtube video that demonstrates the process:
If you're not familiar with how to format USB in FAT32, this video provides the following steps:
2) The file name must exactly match the name listed in the article so that the NVR will recognize it as an update.
It should be rootfs-mc6850, if the file name is changed to rootfs-mc6850(1), the upgrade will fail.
3) Before starting the upgrade, unplug the power supply and mouse, then plug in the USB flash drive and plug it back in.
4) As long as there is power, it can be upgraded automatically, the upgrade process needs to last a few minutes, please wait patiently.
If the upgrade is successful, go to the main menu of the NVR > > System Information to see if the firmware version and release date have changed.
If the upgrade fails, we recommend that you try to replace it with a different USB flash drive or USB port.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
