Answer: Yes, it can be used alone.

Our Zosi ZM2255Y / ZM2258Y Camera can work with these 2 ways below:

Work with Zosi PoE NVR:

Step 1: Connect the camera to your Zosi PoE NVR (incompatible with others) via Ethernet Cable.

Step 2: Scan the QR code on PoE NVR to add it to the Zosi Smart APP.

Step 3: Enjoy Live View via Zosi Smart App or AVSS Client.

Important Note: This camera is Only work with ZOSI PoE NVR. The camera can be powered by ZOSI PoE NVR/PoE switch/DC 12V power adapter (ZOSI PoE NVR/PoE switch/DC 12V power adapter are Not included).

You can set up and access the camera via ZOSI Smart App or AVSS client.

Standalone Use Power via PoE Switch/Injector:

Step 1: Connect your camera to a PoE switch/injector.

Step 2: Scan the QR code on camera to add it to the Zosi Smart APP.

Step 3:Enjoy Live View via Zosi Smart App or AVSS Client.

If you want to hook up to the poe switch or a router,It means connecting to a PoE-powered router, please note that some routers are not powered by POE. And this camera needs to be powered.
