If black rectangles appear in your camera’s live view or recorded footage, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Restart the Camera
First, try restarting your camera.
A simple reboot often fixes temporary software glitches that cause unexpected black blocks.
Step 2: Check Privacy Mask Settings
Black rectangles are most commonly caused by enabled privacy masks (a feature designed to blur or block specific areas). Here’s how to check and disable them:
1. Open your camera’s app and navigate to “Settings”(look for the gear icon, as shown in the first screenshot).
2. Find and select “Privacy Mask Setting” (refer to the second screenshot).
3. In the Privacy Mask interface, identify the black rectangles. Click the trash bin icon (shown in the third screenshot) to delete the unwanted masks.
Step 3: Reset and Reconnect the Device
If the above steps don’t work, perform a factory reset on the camera and reconnect it to your network. This resolves deeper configuration issues that might be causing the black rectangles.
By following these steps, you can quickly eliminate unwanted black rectangles and restore clear footage. If problems persist, contact our support team for further assistance.
